Hear the World Foundation at the 36th World Congress of Audiology in Paris

From September 19 to 22, 2024, Hear the World Foundation (HTWF) proudly participated in the 36th World Congress of Audiology in Paris, France. Hosted by the International Society of Audiology, this global conference brought together leading experts and professionals to discuss the latest advancements shaping the field of audiology.

The event featured essential topics, ranging from Teleaudiology and the emergence of Artificial Intelligence, to the specificities of hearing aid delivery and the practice of Evidence-Based Audiology. Three key themes dominated the roundtable discussions: Hearing & Cognition, Hearing & Neurodevelopmental Disorders, and Ototoxicity. These discussions provided a unique platform for knowledge exchange among leading opinion leaders and offered insights into the evolving landscape of audiology and otoneurology.

HTWF was able to engage with key project partners who also attended the conference, including Dr. Margaret Zuriekat from Jordan University Hospital project, Dr. Eliane Schochat, Dr. Katia de Almeida, and Dr. Maria Cecilia Martinelli from the Academia Brasiliera de Audiologia project, as well as Peter Boettcher from Path Medical, a provider of audiological equipment for the foundation. HTWF Advisory Board members , Prof. Lena Wong and Dr. med. Dorothe Veraguth were also present and key stakeholders at the congress, with member Prof. Wong presenting on the Training and role of hearing healthcare professionals in China. These meetings fostered valuable knowledge sharing and reinforced HTWF’s commitment to global collaboration in hearing healthcare.

The Congress was an great opportunity for audiologists, researchers, and young professionals to engage in practical workshops, share experiences, and deepen their knowledge, making Paris 2024 a truly transformative event in the audiology community.
